Chad's Story

Many people knew Chad as a founding member and guitarist of New Found Glory. For nearly three decades, the music he helped create became the soundtrack to people’s lives. His songs were blasted throughout many fans' teenage years, breakups, long drives, and biggest moments. But to his family and friends, he was so much more than than the guy they loved to watch on stage.

Chad deeply loved his wife, Lisa, and their daughter, Lily. Becoming a father was one of the most meaningful parts of his life, and his family was the center of his world. Even during the hardest years, he kept finding ways to make memories and find joy with Lisa and Lily.

His cancer journey began in 2021, when he was diagnosed with what doctors believed was metastatic pheochromocytoma. After years of surgeries, treatments, and recurrences, further testing showed that he had actually been living with stage IV adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC).

Chad was open about what he was going through and continued writing music and spending time with the people he loved. In June 2026, Chad was thrilled to perform again with New Found Glory while Lily watched him play.

Chad’s music will continue bringing people together, and the love he shared with his family, friends, bandmates, and fans will always be treasured.
