TERA'S STORY
Tera Harvel’s life changed forever in 2021 when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 adrenal cancer, a rare and aggressive disease with limited treatment options. Faced with devastating odds, Tera turned to the National Institutes of Health, where she enrolled in a groundbreaking clinical trial that ultimately gave her what every patient fighting this disease hopes for—more time.
Today, Tera is not only surviving—she is thriving. Thanks to the research and innovation being done at NIH, the treatment she received has played a critical role in her continued fight. She credits the trial with saving her life and giving her the strength to speak up, show up, and help lead the charge toward a future with more options and, eventually, a cure.
As Co-Vice President of the Adrenal Cure Collective, Tera brings passion, purpose, and firsthand experience to her advocacy. Her journey fuels her commitment to expanding awareness, supporting other warriors, and driving funding for research. For Tera, being part of the Collective is more than a title—it’s a mission. She knows that without research, she wouldn't be here, and she wants to ensure that future patients are met with greater hope and better outcomes.
